Book Review: Quantum Tangle by Chris Reher

Update:  Sorry for the major problem with this page earlier.  I’ve fixed it and been reminded of the rule KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid.  I’ll avoid using clever code from now on.

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It was packed with clever ideas, excitement and great characters. The storyline was clever and subtle in both its introduction and execution. The characters were well developed and had me rooting for the good guys and hating the bad guys.

Without giving away too much, the story centres on a pilot who comes out of jump space a huge distance from where he should.  He soon learns that he picked up a stowaway during the jump, not on the ship – in his implants and his brain.  And that’s really all I can say without spoiling the story.

The universe felt solid and well defined.   When I reached the end of the book I found that the author has a number of books in the same universe and that really shows.

What matters most, though, is the story, and this one is great with some surprising twists and a storyline to tug at your heart as well as your adrenal glands. Highly recommended.

    Hi Jim,

Sorry – did my usual thing of reading the comment when I couldn’t reply then forgetting to go back. Really glad you’re enjoying it – I’ve not had a chance to read any more in the series but they’re definitely on my to-read list.

    Simon
